Lake Arlington Facility Rebranding
Lake Arlington is a beloved recreational destination in Arlington Heights, recently refreshed through a larger facility rebranding initiative. As part of the Arlington Heights Park District, the lake's update required a cohesive visual identity that aligned with the district's new branding while celebrating the unique character of the site. Acting as the project manager and lead designer, I spearheaded the visual rebrand—creating a new logo, a full style guide, and a suite of on-site signage that guides, informs, and educates visitors.
The project included the design and production of wayfinding materials, a primary ground sign, and interpretive signage placed around the facility to teach residents about the natural environment and history of the lake. I managed vendor outreach for printing and installation, collected estimates, and worked closely with the selected partners to ensure that all deliverables met quality standards and were installed on schedule. Attention to both aesthetic detail and logistical coordination was key to the project's success.
For the grand reopening event, I developed promotional and educational materials, including an overview of walking and biking paths throughout Arlington Heights. I also designed all event advertisements to engage the community and celebrate the updated space. This project balanced strategic planning, environmental branding, and public outreach—resulting in a refreshed and informative experience for Lake Arlington visitors.
